How do we heal? Even in the 60+ years I’ve been alive, so much has changed in our understanding of what “wellness” really means. As the daughter of a psychiatrist, an activist promoting healthier communities for almost all my adult life, a volunteer in grassroots organizations protecting the victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and GLBTQIA+ rights, and finally a licensed bodyworker and clinical social worker since the late ’90’s, I’ve been along for much of that ride.
In the following articles, I explore my personal take, culled from those years of observation, as well as the results of my own work with clients and communities, on what it takes for each unique individual to arrive at their own version of wellness. Perhaps these thoughts will ignite you!
I’ve also done specific work dedicated to how the inclusion of the body is crucial to a new model of mental well-being. If you’re interested as well, read on to benefit from “The Power of Embodiment.” For those struggling with the fallout of being raised by inadequate or disturbed parents, I invite you to read some of the articles in my “Release Yourself From the Emotionally Immature or Personality Disordered Parent”.
Perhaps reading the articles, alone, sates your need to understand and feel understood, but if you decide that work with me, either individually or through a course I offer, would benefit you, there will always be an opportunity to do so in the link at the bottom of each article.
Be well!
