The addition of medicinals such as Ketamine or Cannabis to trauma treatment is a highly controversial one. Yet I’ve found that in my work with developmental trauma, that either can have a profound effect on my clients’ healing. Whether it is to soften the walls behind which painful and otherwise overwhelming memories lie, or let in emotions long held at bay, medicinals, also known as psychedelics, can be a powerful tool in promoting greater wholeness. Clients who have developed a trusting relationship with me and who have developed an embodied understanding of somatic work may choose this as an additional option, in order to tap the undiscovered healer within.
