About Inga Larson

types of therapy

Inga Karen Larson, RMT, LCSW and MTI a lifelong explorer of healing modalities, has been providing support and assistance to families and individuals for over fifteen years. In my practice, I do nothing less than help you to meet, and embrace your true self, in all its richness.  With heart, and deep listening, I join with you to discover the hidden resources that have been yours, all along. With a variety of interventions, from EMDR to NLP, polarity and energetic techniques, I will support you in discovering the strengths you need to move forward into a new and better life.

I am a fully licensed clinical social worker who has been actively engaged in counseling and supporting adults and children since 1990. As my training also includes massage therapy, and my personal life has followed and inclusive spiritual path since adolescence, I embrace all means that engender growth, responsibility, and joy.  I find it is in a path uniquely suited to each of us that we are able to find our power, even as we seek ways to share it with others.  Reciprocity, the ability to give and receive, is key to healing. My work has embraced the issues of domestic violence, abuse, addiction, and severe mental illness.

Currently, I work with adults and adolescents, and welcome the opportunity to support you in a team atmosphere that may consist of psychiatrists, nutritionists, physical trainers and other complimentary care practitioners. My awareness of the link between the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual is augmented by the practice of bodywork, including Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki, to allow depression, anxiety, and trauma to surface and be released.

Qualifications

Fully licensed as clinical social worker (LCSW: 33753) and massage therapist (RMT: 06443) in the state of Texas Member, NASW and IAHP

Testimonials

Once we did the work, it was clear to me that touch was a powerful link to understanding that which hides beneath the surface.  With the right hands, touch can be a more direct link towards understanding what’s inside.  I can’t see body work being effective if there’s no trust between therapist and client, but with you, trust comes naturally; you have honor woven into your fabric and that goes a long way when entering new territory in a therapist’s office.

Something that I learned early on in my sessions with you was that I truly was in the driver’s seat for the most part.  Having that sense of control (for lack of a better word) perhaps allowed me to enter into bodywork with less or no hesitation.  I felt you more or less held my hand when I needed it, as I wandered through my psyche and emotions, exploring memories and feelings—you kept me from being alone in the sometimes dark and scary woods as I found my way back to me.

It took me a long time to get on the table because of my history, but you were so attuned and patient and never forced the work until I was ready. It has been immensely helpful. I’ve been able to move past some traumas in my life in a way I’ve never experienced in my five years of other kinds of therapy. I would definitely do it again.

I had an idea I needed it.  The quiz on your website helped to confirm the hunch.  After talking with you the first time, it seemed like the most holistic way to go for me…I like that it s driven by my thoughts, feelings, sensations, etc…helped me to become more aware (and) reflective.

At first I was somewhat reluctant to uneasy.  As we did the work, particularly in the past few months, I have noticed the effectiveness of it—especially with distress to depression.
Definitely helpful.  Yes, I would do it again.  The work has made me more aware of what’s up with my subconscious when my shoulder hurts.
